Two more people have filed claims after they were injured while riding revel scooters in Brooklyn.
Jessica Long was riding near Myrtle Avenue and Linden Street in Brooklyn on July 2 when the Revel moped stopped working properly. The woman lost control and crashed, falling from the moped. She ended up with serious injuries.
Another similar case occurred on May 10 when Marian Miller got serious injuries from an accident that happened on Bedford Avenue between President Street and Carroll Street in Brooklyn. Miller also used a Revel scooter with a malfunction.
At least seven lawsuits claim that Revel has grown popular across the city since it began in 2018. However, the company didn’t maintain the scooters, trying to match the big growth.
Getting in an accident because of a faulty part of a vehicle can be a serious problem especially if you end up with severe injuries. Even if no one else was involved in the accident, and the vehicle just stopped functioning properly, you shouldn’t give up on discovering what happened. Seek medical help and legal assistance as soon as possible.
If it turns out that the manufacturer, seller, or a company that rents the vehicle didn’t do their work when producing or maintaining their vehicles, you have a case. You can file a lawsuit and seek a compensation claim for your injuries.
The settlement will cover your medical expenses (surgeries, medicine, treatments, the hospital stay) and lost wages, but also pain and suffering. The company you’re suing will hire their attorney, just like their insurance company, so you should be supported by a skilled and knowledgeable attorney.
