One person was killed in a New York State Thruway collision between a car and a tractor trailer in Rockland County on Friday morning, March 12, state police said.
The collision happened in the early morning hours, around 5 a.m. on the northbound side of I-87, just south of Exit 14B. The truck came to rest on its side with serious damages to the cab. The white sedan had damage to the driver’s side door. During the investigation, the police closed the highway for several hours.
The police are still investigating how the New York State Thruway collision happened.
If you were involved in a crash, no matter how it happened or whose fault it was, it’s important to seek legal support as soon as possible. After the medical help, you receive, be sure to call a car accident attorney and tell them about your case.
Having an attorney who works on the case (gathering evidence, seeking the police report, guiding you and advising you) will significantly help you when you decide to file for a compensation claim.
Insurance companies aren’t very fond of paying high amounts just like that. They will use anything you failed to do (lack of documents, possible mistake you did while driving when the crash happened) to offer a low settlement or deny it entirely.
Our team at Cellino Law has experience with such cases. We know how important it is for accident victims to get a decent claim that will help them cover their expenses. Not everyone knows that you could negotiate with the insurance company (and not everyone knows how to do this). Allow an attorney to help you get your settlement.
For any question you have about your accident or about losing a loved one in such circumstances, contact our office and speak with an experienced New York car accident attorney.
