One person died in a four-vehicle crash in Long Island just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 2. The crash occurred in North Valley Stream in the region of Franklin Avenue and Corona Avenue.
A 2004 Volvo SUV was going southbound on Franklin Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit an occupied vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light, the Nassau County Police confirmed.
The Volvo kept moving southbound and hit two parked cars; the second one was occupied when the crash happened. Finally, the Volvo stopped against a brick wall. The driver of the Volvo had severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County Police Medic.
No other injuries were reported.
The police haven’t released the victim’s identity yet. The investigation into the four-vehicle crash in Long Island continues.
