A Long Island driver killed in a two-vehicle accident after he ran a red light was identified as Leonor Parra-Nunez, 61. The accident happened in Calverton around 6:14 a.m., on Thursday, April 1.

Parra-Nunez from Coram was operating a 1997 Nissan Maxima northbound on Burman Boulevard when failed to stop at a red light at Route 25. His car was then struck by a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox in Calverton, that was going eastbound, Riverhead Police Det. Michael Schmidt informed.

The thirty-three-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Ronaldo Ajcuc-Chemale from Calverton, was treated at the scene and taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Parra-Nunez who was extricated from his car by the Wading River Fire Department was also taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. The investigation showed that the Long Island driver killed in the crash had failed to stop at the red light. The police are asking any witnesses of the crash to call detectives at 631-727-4500.

One of the most common reasons for accidents is not stopping at the red light. Such accidents lead to hard collisions and severe injuries; it’s not uncommon for drivers and passengers to die in such crashes. If you were involved in a similar accident, where you have crashed a car that didn’t stop at a red light, even though it is clear that you were not at fault, make sure to contact a car accident lawyer as soon as you can. The outcomes of the accidents could be harsh for you as well (injuries, damages), so it’s better to start the legal process with a skilled and experienced attorney.

Your injuries, lost wages and damages, as well as pain and suffering, should also be covered by a compensation claim. Don’t go alone against the insurers. Contact Cellino Law and schedule your free case review with a New York car accident lawyer

  • I am writing this letter to say how much I appreciate your services pertaining to my case. Your injury attorney took a hands-on approach and left me fully informed at all times as to where my case was going as well as how much ground we had to cover; leaving the final decisions in my hands but making sure that I knew all of the risks involved in the choices. I have dealt with a few law firms in my life on various different cases and this is the first time that I never had to call and/or track down my lawyer… because of this, I have and will continue to recommend Cellino Law to my friends and associates.

  • I can only say great things about my attorney Allan Silverstein. He is professional, he calls back right away, he keeps me informed, and makes me feel comfortable as this entire ordeal is stressful. I have total confidence in his ability to handle whatever comes his way. He is no nonsense and very good at his job. Thank you Allan... he is a true asset to the team!

  • This letter is to thank Ms. Diane D’Andrea, assistant to Mr. George Gridelli, Attny for all the hard work, dedication, and attentiveness she showed during the representation of my case. She was always cheerful and ready to help in whatever way she could. All messages left for Mr. Gridelli were always relayed and Mr. Gridelli always promptly returned our calls. She was a very competent assistant. Cellino Law has proven to be a model of what legal representation should be. Throughout the 6 ½ years of this case, I have heard many horror stories from people with “bad lawyer stories.” We consider ourselves to be very lucky to have chosen Cellino Law and will always recommend you to those looking for good, honest representation with a personal touch.
