A motorcyclist was killed in an accident that occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday. The accident happened on Interstate 290 in the Town of Tonawanda.
Authorities responded to Interstate 290 east, near the Colvin Boulevard exit, after they got a report of an injured motorcycle rider after he got hit by a car at about 3:35 a.m.
Forty-seven-year-old John A. Serrano from North Tonawanda was traveling eastbound on Interstate 290 when his motorcycle left the pavement and he was forced onto the middle lane of traffic.
According to the police, Serrano was hit by several vehicles while lying on the road and sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
The accident is investigated by the Town of Tonawanda Police Department. Drivers of the other vehicles that became involved in the accident are cooperating with the police. None of the drivers had any injuries and the police say there won’t be any charges against them.
