Ten people were injured, five of which suffered severe or life-threatening injuries, in a seven-vehicle accident involving an MTA bus. The Brooklyn multiple-vehicle crash temporarily closed the road, said the police.
It all started after a minor accident, a Mercedes-Benz and a Ford SUV pulled off to the side of the road close to the 4th Avenue exit on the Prospect Expressway in Windsor Terrace. The crash took place shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday, February 26, the police said.
While the drivers of both cars were exchanging information, a third car, a grey Mercedes lost control and crashed into the back of the other Mercedes.
Four other vehicles were involved in the Brooklyn multiple-vehicle crash, including an MTA bus. The traffic was delayed as the highway was closed for the investigation.
A multiple-vehicle accident can be a real challenge, especially when the police have to determine the fault.
In such cases, it’s best to have a skilled car accident attorney to help you. Since New York is a no-fault state, and your claim is covered by your insurance, you’ll have to have a good attorney if you want to file a claim or lawsuit against the at-fault driver (if we assume it wasn’t your fault). This is crucial for pain and suffering or non-economic damages. Your injuries should meet certain thresholds the state has set.
Of course, you can try to do this on your own, but it’s always better to get legal assistance from an experienced attorney.
If you want to file a lawsuit against the liable driver to cover all your medical bills, lost wages, trauma and pain and suffering, our team at Cellino Law is here for you. Our New York car accident attorneys will gladly help you get your much-deserved claim.
